So the THSR stations are called "''THSR XX Station''" to separate from the stations of TRA. The Taipei Metro and the Kaohsiung MRT are the urban metro in Taipei and Kaohsiung metropolitan area. The Taipei Metro opened on March 1996, the Kaohsiung MRT on March 2008. == Taiwan Railway Administration == Most Taiwan Railway Administration station names have been romanized using Hanyu Pinyin since 2008, although some major stations named after counties and major cities retain their traditional spelling, e.g., Keelung and Kaohsiung. The names were romanized using Wade–Giles before 2002 and Tongyong Pinyin from 2002 to 2008.
